With Halloween just gone & Thanksgiving and Christmas around the corner, our craving for pumpkin-flavored everything is at an all-time high! To help quell these cravings, we’ve put together 5 ways you can get your pumpkin fix!
1. Pumpkin Puree
If you’re a die-hard pumpkin fan, then nothing will satisfy your cravings aside from the real deal. Whether you want to make a pumpkin pie or any other pumpkin-flavored dish, chances are you’ll need pumpkin puree. Finding this in the UAE requires a little searching and maybe more dirhams than you’d expect! Check out Kibsons, Choithrams, or Safestway, or better yet make it yourself fresh!
2. Decorate with Pumpkins
Pumpkins & other gourds make great Thanksgiving decorations! You can buy small decorative gourds from most supermarkets that are the perfect size for dressing your table for Thanksgiving dinner or simply sprucing up your window sills.
3. Pumpkin spiced latte
It’s back (well, kind of)! Starbucks surprised the whole of the UAE by putting the famous PSL back on its menu (for a limited time only!) There are also many other cafes across the UAE that offer variations of this holiday treat, so if you don’t get to Starbucks in time, head to your local cafe and see what they have to offer! Supporting local businesses like Tania’s Teahouse and café M is a great way to spread festive cheer too.
4.Toasted Pumpkin Seeds
Looking for something a bit out of the box but still fancy something autumnal? Try roasted pumpkin seeds! Instead of chucking the seeds in the bin when you carve your pumpkin or make your fave pumpkin dishes, make use of them! Soak the seeds for 10 minutes in salty water, drain, and spread on a baking tray. Drizzle a generous amount of olive oil and put them in the oven for 20 minutes on high. Great for adding to salads or sprinkling on your morning oatmeal.
5. Order a pumpkin dish
If you don’t feel like cooking or are shocked at the price of pumpkin products in the UAE, then ordering a Fall-themed dish on MUNCH:ON is a great way to stay on budget & feel cozy this Fall. We suggest trying Richy’s Thai Pumpkin Soup for a twist on the classic pumpkin flavor or The Little Soup Shop for the classic roasted pumpkin soup and a bagel!
